How we work

Editorial Policy

How Kyrvalos researches, writes, and reviews its content — safely, inclusively, and independently.

Trust is the only thing that makes a fitness publication worth reading. This page explains how we research, write, review, and maintain everything on Kyrvalos — and how we keep our coaching safe, inclusive, and independent.

How we choose what to cover

We write about the things real people actually struggle with: starting from zero, staying consistent, fixing wobbly form, building strength without fear of the weight room, finding cardio that fits a busy life, and recovering well enough to keep going. Ideas come from our coaches' own experience with clients, reader questions, and the recurring problems we see derail people. We do not chase trends or extreme challenges for traffic's sake.

How we research and write

Every article is written or reviewed by a named member of our team with direct, hands-on coaching experience of the topic — including a former personal trainer and head coach, a strength and performance coach, and a recovery and habits specialist. We aim to be evidence-informed: we draw on recognised exercise-science and health guidance, reputable primary sources, and what genuinely works in real coaching, rather than recycling hype from other sites. Claims that depend on figures are linked to their source, and we note when something varies by person, level, or condition.

Safety-first review

Before publication, each piece is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, usefulness, and — above all — safety. We ask a simple question of every draft: would this genuinely help a reader train better without putting them at risk? We flag proper form, warm-ups, and sensible progression, we include contraindications where they matter, and we remind readers to consult a doctor before starting and to stop for warning signs. If a draft is just filler, or pushes something unsafe, it does not run.

Inclusive by default

Fitness is for every body and every level. We write for beginners and returners as carefully as for experienced lifters, we offer modifications and regressions, and we avoid shame, weight-loss obsession, and "no pain, no gain" thinking. The goal is a sustainable habit you'll keep — not a punishing program you'll quit.

Independence and advertising

Kyrvalos is funded by advertising and, occasionally, affiliate links. To protect your trust:

  • We are brand-agnostic and never accept payment to give a positive review or to feature a product in editorial content — there is no pay-for-placement.
  • We do not promote miracle products, fat-burners, detoxes, or quick-fix transformations.
  • Advertising is clearly distinguishable from articles, and affiliate relationships never change our verdict — see our disclaimer for the full disclosure.

Our use of AI tools

Our articles are written and edited by people. We may use software for spell-checking, research, or suggesting outlines, but a human coach or writer is responsible for the substance, accuracy, and final wording of everything we publish. We do not publish auto-generated content.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do, we fix them quickly and transparently. If you spot an error or an out-of-date detail, email [email protected] or use our contact form. Substantive corrections are noted on the article.

Updates

Because guidance and best practices evolve, we revisit popular guides and refresh them. When an article is meaningfully updated, the publication date reflects the most recent revision.
