About Kyrvalos

Helping everyone train smarter and more sustainably

Kyrvalos is an independent, no-nonsense fitness magazine. We help people of every level move better, get stronger, and build a fitness habit that actually lasts — consistency over extremes, every body welcome.

Why we started Kyrvalos

Most fitness advice falls into one of two traps. It is either built for people who are already extremely fit — brutal programs, perfect schedules, and an assumption you have nothing else going on — or it is a thin excuse to sell you a supplement, a gadget, or a 30-day transformation that won't last. We wanted a third option: clear, encouraging coaching for real people with real lives, real bodies, and a finite amount of time and energy.

Kyrvalos started in 2026 with a simple conviction: the best workout is the one you'll actually repeat. Our coaches kept seeing the same thing — people chasing complicated, punishing plans, getting overwhelmed or injured, and quitting. So we built a publication around the opposite idea: simple, consistent training that meets you where you are. Today we publish practical guides across four areas — workouts, strength, cardio, and recovery and habits — all built on the same belief: small, durable changes beat dramatic overhauls every time.

How we work

Every article is written or reviewed by a coach who has used the methods with real clients of all levels — from total beginners to returning athletes. We favour depth over volume, we keep form and safety front and centre, and we are upfront about what we don't know. When we recommend an approach, it's because we'd coach a friend through it — not because someone paid us to feature it.

We also try to be honest about when fitness information isn't enough on its own. General guidance can't replace a doctor, physiotherapist, or registered dietitian who knows your body and your history. We'll tell you when it's time to check with a professional. You can read more in our disclaimer and about how we work in our editorial policy.

What we value

The principles behind every article

Practical, not theoretical

We write about workouts and methods our coaches have actually used with real people. If something only works for genetically gifted athletes with endless free time, we say so.

Safety-first, always

Good form, sensible progression, and knowing when to rest come before chasing numbers. We'd rather you train for years than burn out — or get hurt — in a month.

Consistency over extremes

We don't believe in punishing crash programs or all-or-nothing thinking. Small, repeatable habits beat heroic effort you can't sustain. Train smarter, not just harder.

Anti-hype and inclusive

No miracle products, no shame, no jargon. Every body and every level is welcome here, and we explain things the way a good coach would — clearly, and on your side.

The team

Who writes Kyrvalos

Jax Romero
Jax Romero
Founder & Head Coach

Jax spent a decade as a personal trainer watching people chase complicated programs and quit. He founded Kyrvalos to champion the opposite: simple, consistent training that meets you where you are. He cares far more about whether you show up next week than about your one-rep max, and he believes the best workout is the one you'll actually repeat.

Elena Frost
Elena Frost
Strength & Performance Coach

Elena is a strength coach who has trained beginners and athletes alike, and she's convinced lifting is for everyone — not just the people already strong. She teaches form first, ego never, and progress you can feel. She is happiest demystifying the barbell for someone who swore the weight room wasn't for them.

Tomas Reyes
Tomas Reyes
Recovery & Habits Writer

Tomas writes about the unglamorous half of fitness — rest, mobility, sleep, and the habits that quietly decide whether anything sticks. A former overtrainer who learned the hard way, he now preaches recovery as training, not its absence. He's living proof that doing a little, consistently, beats doing a lot until you quit.
